MEETING ABOUT HERITAGE (INTERNATIONAL DAY ON MONUMENTS AND SITES).

The International Day on Monuments and Sites was established the 18th april 1892 by ICOMOS, institution that promotes every year this celebration all over the world. The initiative was aproved by UNESCO General Assembly during its 22th session as an oportunity to sensibilize citizens about the variety of cultural Heritage and the efforts needed to protect and preserve it, warning about the vulnerability of Heritage and the need of taking permanent care of it.

Due to the coincidence between the 50th anniversay of the International Day on Monuments and Sites (18th april) and City Council elections, we have joined arquitects, art historians, members of ICOMOS, and candidates to city councillors, to analyse and discuss about the present situation and the proposals about cultural policy and Heritage in the city of San Sebastián.
